Process Overview
Each year, the League is required to perform background checks on all volunteers that will be in contact with children, whether that volunteer helps on or off the field.
There are two parts to this check:
- The Little League-required Volunteer Application Process, which includes a national background check via JDP QuickApp. This is required for every volunteer, off or on the field.
- The Lawrence Township-required fingerprinting, performed every three years by the Township's preferred provider, IdentiGo. This is only required for on-field volunteers.
Additionally, on-field volunteers must complete CDC Concussion Safety Training and a Basic First Aid & Safety Course annually.
All Volunteers - JDP QuickApp Process for Little League Volunteer Application and Background Check
After registering with the League to volunteer using the above process, volunteers will receive an email from JDP asking them to complete the online volunteer application and submit to a national background check by JDP. There is no cost for this service.
Use of the JDP QuickApp allows potential volunteers to complete their Little League Volunteer Application and background check in one step. The process eliminates a paper volunteer application. All information is stored through JDP, eliminating the need for leagues to keep paper volunteer applications. Potential volunteers can complete their application on a secure site and league officials will no longer be able to view a SSN during the background check process. The only information that is necessary for the JDP QuickApp process is a potential volunteer’s first and last name and email address
Our registration system will send you an email initiating the online process. Do not register on the JDP website. Emails will be sent from a sender address of "[email protected]" Volunteers have 14 days to complete the form.

On-Field Volunteers - CDC Heads Up Training
