A transition league that prepares players for a full little league game. At the beginning of the season, coaches will pitch in games. As the season progresses, player pitching will be introduced.
⚾ Eligible Age: Boys or girls league age 7-9. Players age 6 are not eligible for this division.
⚾ Schedule: Teams practice once or twice a week and generally play one game a week. The season is 8-10 games and may include intra-league play.
⚾ Draft and Roster: Team rosters are created annually through a draft made up of players not selected into the Minors AAA division. Since placement on teams is through a blind draft, we do not honor requests to place any child on the same team as a sibling, friend, or coach.
⚾ Coaches: Team Managers register through the website and their player is automatically assigned to the team. Assistant coaches are added to the staff of the team their player is drafted onto.
⚾ House Rules: Lineups are set by the Team Manager, and players may not play the same fielding position for more than 2 innings in the same game. There are a maximum 5 runs scored in an inning, and umpires (a coach from each team), are encouraged to have a large strike zone. Stealing is limited to second base only (and only when a player is pitching), and on an overthrow, the runner may only advance one base from where they started when the pitch was thrown. The dropped third strike and infield fly rules are not active.
⚾ Pitching: Coach-pitched for first 4 games. Player pitcher is phased in by the midpoint of the season. When players pitch, they must start the inning and can throw a maximum of 25 pitches in a game. Players may pitch from 42'.
⚾ Standings and Playoffs: Team records or division standings are not tracked. The division hosts a single elimination tournament at the end of the season, with seedings determined by random draw.
