League Return to Play FAQ

What is the status of Lawrence Little League?
The State of NJ and The Township of Lawrence has allowed youth sports to start again. Since we have already issued refunds to all families who requested a refund, we will be conducting a new registration for anyone who is interested in participating in the Summer Program.

What safety measures will be in place?
The LTJBSA had to submit an official re-opening plan to the Township of Lawrence as part of the criteria to open back up. This plan has been approved by the Recreation Department, Public Works, Department, Managers Office and Health Department. A
copy of this plan is available here. We will be following all State and Local health guidelines. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to the league

What will the time frame of the season be?
We are looking to start on field practices 7/1/2020 and games will start 7/11/2020o Season will end on 8/22/2020o Will be open to Baseball Players ( male and female) ages 9-12 (age as of 8/31/2020)

Why only players ages 9 and up?
Due to the current restrictions placed on us, we are limited to the amount of people we can have at the park at any one time, limited volunteer resources and players under the age of 9 will have a difficulty in social distancing.

Why only Baseball and not Softball?
There was a survey completed and due to the lack of interest in having any type of Summer Softball program, it was decided to wait until the Fall 2020 for Softball.

Will we be on the same team we were placed on back in March for the Spring Season?
Probably not. After we get the new registrations and see how many players and volunteers we have, we will most likely re-draft based on those numbers.

How many divisions will we have?
This will also depend on the number of registrations we get.

Will there be any all-star teams?
That is to be determined. If we do, the district is only holding a 12 Year Old Baseball Tournament. At this time, there will not be any tournaments for any other age groups

I have vacation plans – how will that impact things?
We know there will be many families that will have vacation plans during the summer and we certainly understand that.

Will the concession stand be open?
No, we will not be running the concession stand. Please make sure your players bring plenty of water and stay hydrated during the practice and games.
