Welcome to Spring 2021 Little League!

Little League Parents:

Welcome! We are so excited to have you join us to bring back softball and baseball to Lawrence Township!

By now, you should have receive an automated email from our registration system, letting you know that your child has been moved off the waitlist and is now fully registered for our season! All children who have registered will receive a team slot - we have over 200 kids in our system for this year, and everyone will play!

I am writing to share a few important details as we begin the process of starting up the season.

First, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram as it's the easiest way to get updates from us.

Second, you will receive an automated email from our system later tonight with the subject line “Participant Activated from Wait List.” This email will mean that your child has been moved off the waitlist and it is time to pay to complete registration. We have two options for payment:

  1. A single payment of $125, due by March 12. You can click through the automated email to pay by credit card.

  2. A three-payment payment plan. However, due to limitations of our system system you will need to respond to this email (or send to [email protected]) so we can move you onto the payment plan. DO NOT respond to the automated email as it is an unattended inbox.

    1. Plan details:

      1. $34 by March 12, $50 by April 12 and $50 by May 12

      2. Note this plan unfortunately costs $9 more due to payment processing fees taken by our website provider. The League does not make any extra money on this plan.

Third, all teams will use the Game Changer Team Manager app to coordinate team practice and game schedules. Team Manager also has a built-in Health Tracker tool, similar to what you have probably used for school, that will allow our teams to safely practice. Your coach will provide more detail during the season, but for now please download the app and set up your account:

We are currently finalizing updates to our COVID Safety plan with Lawrence Township, and will publish it on our website before the start of the season. Here are highlights of our plan, so you can begin to prepare for practices and games:

  • Every player must complete a Health Check in the Game Changer app for each practice and game they attend.

  • We won’t use the dugouts. Instead, your player should bring a folding chair. They will set up outside of the fences along the first- and third-base lines.

  • Spectator stands will be closed. Parents should bring a folding chair to watch games along the left- and right foul lines or beyond the center field fence..

  • Players cannot share equipment. They must bring your own. If your player wants to catch, they will need to have their own equipment as we won’t be using the “house” equipment.

  • Fields (fence latches, dugouts, etc) will be sanitized after every practice and game.

  • Each team will use its own ball. The catcher must bring it off the field after the half-inning ends.

  • Base coaches and umpires must maintain proper social distancing. Umpires will be located behind the mound.

  • Post-game, teams will hat-tip as their show of sportsmanship - no shaking hands or high-fives.

So what’s next?

  • We’ll hold an Evaluation Day on March 13 at the Lawrence High School turf fields so we can place your child in a division appropriate for their skill level. This will be a 30-40 minute session. Look for details via email the week of March 7. There will be no make up date for this evaluation day so we ask that you do your best to be available during your time slot. Note you must make your first payment by March 12 so that we can have insurance active for your child.

  • Teams will be formed the week of March 14 and your coach will reach out to you with details at the end of that week. Practices will start the week of March 20.

  • Lawrence Little League Weekend will be March 19-22 at Dick’s Sporting Goods. 20% all orders. Online and in-store options will be available. Details will be emailed to you prior to the start.

  • Games will begin the week of April 19 at Central Park. We will unfortunately not have any public ceremonies this year due to social distancing.

Finally, we are looking for three more volunteers to help us with social media promotion, taking care of fields, and generally help keep  things run smoothly during the season. If you would like to get involved with the League, please reply directly to this email.
